Dorothy Martinez

Aurora “Dorothy” Arellano Martinez, 87, of Bastrop, TX., was born on Sept. 19, 1930, in Smithville, TX. and passed away on Apr. 18,2018, surrounded by her family and friends.

​Visitation will be held in the chapel of E.P. Compean Funeral Directors on Fri., Apr. 20, 2018, from 4:30pm to 8:00pm.  

​Religious service will be held on Sat., Apr. 21, 2018, at 10:00am in the chapel of E.P. Compean Funeral Directors.

​Rite of Committal will follow in WOW Cemetery in Rosenberg, TX.

​Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Francesca Arellano, son, Rupert “Robert” Mata; daughter, Frances Mata; brothers, Albert Arellano, Macedonio Arellano and Gonzalo Arellano; sisters, Ester Jimenez and Rosie Trevino, and two grand children, Reggie Galvan Jr., and Stella Mata.

She leaves behind her sons, Manuel Mata and wife Margaret, Richard Mata and Hector Arellano; daughters, Anna Galvan, Farrah Roque and husband Patrick, Lupe Pelayre, Janie Theys, Ebangelina ”Angie” Allen, and Rhonda Salinas and husband Gilbert; brothers, David Arellano and wife Suzanna, Willie Arellano and wife Connie; sister, Celia Becerra; 30 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren;and9 great great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
