Eugenio "Gene" Rodriguez III

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Eugenio “Gene” Rodriguez III of Kingsville, TX on 11-08-2023, at the age of 55 years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 2pm to 4pm in the chapel of E.P. Compean Funeral Directors, 1223 Sixth St., Rosenberg, TX 77471.

Gene will be lovingly remembered by his partner of 12 years, Marlo Margot Adrian (Katerina/Jacob) - His three adoring daughters Maricela Rodriguez (Phoenix), Clarissa Rodriguez (Calvin), Gabriella Rodriguez (Victor) – His siblings Idalina Rodriguez Balderas, Eugenio Rodriguez IV, Vanessa Rodriguez and his devoted nieces and nephews Zoe Marie Balderas (Jose), Nikolas Eugenio Balderas, Elias Aaron Rodriguez, and Isalei Nuanua Ta’ase.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents Eugenio Rodriguez Jr. and Maria Hilda Mendieta Rodriguez.

Born in Corpus Christi, Gene was the positive light that could brighten up even the darkest days. His infectious laugh and smile would instantly cure any sorrow. If his positive spirit wasn't enough, a joke and a loving hug would do the trick! Gene was a loving father, a brother, a best friend, a hero, innovator, and a rockstar. Gene grew up in Del Rio, TX where his musical journey began. It started with a trumpet and transitioned into guitar. Gene's happiest moments were when he was on stage melting faces with his brothers in SoulXchange. From small gigs to musical pavilions Gene poured his heart out on the guitar. If Gene wasn't playing the guitar, he loved to fish, hunt, fix his truck, and be surrounded by the ones he loved. Gene’s love and advice will greatly be missed by his Daughters, Partner, Friends, and Family.
