Janie Benestes Martinez

Janie B. Martinez, 74, of Rosenberg, TX., was born on February 5, 1949, and passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023, surrounded by her family.

A visitation for Janie will be held in the chapel of E.P. Compean Funeral Directors, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Sat., December 16, 2023, with a religious service beginning at @ 3:00pm.   

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Martinez Sr., parents, Ernest Benestes and Janie Rodriguez; sons, Jimmy Martinez Jr., Jerry Martinez, and Rudy Martinez; sisters, Virginia Lopez, Mary Prado, Christina Merla, and Gloria Rosales; brother, Jesse Benestes.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her children, Kenneth Martinez, Virginia Martinez, Lawrence Martinez, and Bobby Martinez; sisters, Lucie Vargas, and Estella Gomez; daughter in law, Joann Martinez; along with 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other family and friends.

Janie loved her family with all she had and would do anything for them. She loved taking care of them and cooking. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids, especially her stinkers Rudy and Trayce, her babies.
