Joe Fuentes

Joe Fuentes, 82, of Richmond, was born June 5, 1937, and passed away peacefully on Sept. 30, 2019, surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be held in the chapel of E.P. Compean Funeral Directors from 4:30pm to 8:30pm with a rosary being prayed at 6:30pm on Thurs., Oct. 3, 2019.

Funeral mass officiated by Father Jesse Garcia, will be held at

St. John Fisher Catholic Church on Fri., Oct. 4, 2019, at 10am.

A graveside service will be held on Mon., Oct. 7, 2019, at 9:45am at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents; Juan and Romana (Hernandez) Fuentes; brother, Adelido Fuentes; sister, Guadalupe Garcia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Josefa Martinez Fuentes; daughter, Anna Marie Smith and husband Billy; granddaughter, Kirsten Nicole Smith; grandson, Jonathan Smith; brother, Juan Fuentes Jr. and wife Omega; sister, Dominga Mendoza; along with numerous nieces, nephew, friends and other loved ones.

Joe was an amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend with a heart of gold who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank Yolanda Cruz, Deacon Danny Naranjo and Pax et Vita Hospice for all the love and support they gave to Joe and the family.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 410 Clay St., Richmond, Texas, in Joe’s name.
