Matthew P. DeLuna, 18, of Richmond, Texas, was born on December 6, 2005, and passed away on November 8, 2024.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 4:30pm – 8pm at the Rosenberg Civic Center (3825 TX-36, Rosenberg, TX 77471). Reception will begin at 6:30pm with a religious service beginning at 5:30pm.
Matthew DeLuna, a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, leaves behind a legacy of love, passion, and music that touched all who knew him.
Matthew is survived by his mother, Veronica Argueta, and stepfather, Robert Argueta; his father, Stephen DeLuna, and stepmother, Michelle Avila; his brothers, Stephen Jr., Joseph, and David DeLuna, Jayden Avila, and Jr Dumo.; his sisters, Maria Barela and her husband Joel Barela, Isabella and Abigail Argueta, and Aleah Avila; as well as his cherished grandparents, Fred and Mary DeLuna, Roy and Flora Lopez, and Juan Aguilar. He is also survived by his two nieces and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and other loved ones who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Matthew had an undeniable passion for music, particularly for playing the bass drum. He was an active member of the percussion section at B.F. Terry High School, where he graduated in 2024. His love for music continued as he pursued his studies at Stephen F. Austin University, where he proudly joined their marching band.
Above all, Matthew was deeply devoted to his longtime girlfriend, Jaylynn Perez, with whom he shared seven beautiful years of love and companionship.
Matthew's memory will live on through the many lives he touched with his kind heart, his musical talents, and the unwavering love he gave to those around him. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
